FIRE photo kimono
FIRE photo kimono 2000
photographic strips on canvas
197 in x 158 in
In 2000, I installed two, large-scale, photographic ‘kimonos’ in the imposing architecture of Osaka’s World Trade Center – “Sky Kimono” and “Fire Kimono” – as my way of paying tribute to Japanese culture.
This photo-kimono represents fires photographed in four different countries.
