SEPTEMBER is ALIVE with ART (part II) !

PERSPECTIVES/SF: THE ARTISTS OF 1890 BRYANT STREET STUDIOS, just opened at the Sausalito Center for the Arts. The exhibition continues through October 5, 2025
From the Mission to Marin – the Sausalito Center For The Arts is thrilled to present an extraordinary exhibition featuring the diverse and dynamic work of artists from 1890 Bryant Street Studios, one of the most iconic creative spaces in the Bay Area. PERSPECTIVES / SF brings together a curated selection of these visionary voices—each offering a unique lens into the rich tapestry of Bay Area art.

Come celebrate the artistry, the energy, and the enduring legacy of a building that continues to shape the cultural identity of San Francisco—and now, Sausalito. I will be presenting three wall hangings and a small screen from the “Waters” series: WINTER SEASCAPE, DAY’S END, LIQUID GOLD, 2025, as well as CARIBBEAN SEASCAPE, 2002. Sequential photography, pigment prints on polyester wall hangings, and mixed media on aluminum, wood, and faux leather screen. Water’s inherent paradox—constantly transforming yet eternally itself—invites me to capture its multiple states through sequential photography, as a meditation on change. Each frame captures discrete moments; their accumulation reveals patterns of rhythmic repetition and variation. Water’s truth lives in the rhythm between moments. My sequences translate water’s dynamic energy into tangible compositions that breathe and flow in stillness. Light marks time through shifting colors, from morning’s cool blues to evening’s warm golds, revealing how perception is temporal. Printing on textiles explores water’s intimate relationship with the human body, acknowledging our fundamental connection and blurring boundaries between self and environment.
