WATER WORLD is part of the STEAM series, an experiment in photo-painting. Every time I take a shower I observe the steam building up on the bathroom mirror. Patches of colors and textures are reflected, blurry and vague. Over time, as I look more closely, the steam condenses and starts dripping down gracefully over the mirror’s surface. My camera captures the movement, at times liquid and sharp, at times soft and blurred. I capture dripping jewels in suspended animation, amidst fields of wild or muted color. I arrange the images in graphic sequences. Each finished piece tells a story. This composition reminds me of underwater explorations.

Sequential photography, steam, light, mirror, time. Printed on gauzy 85% modal/15% silk.
