Many walls of my NY and Paris neighborhoods engage passersby in existential debates. I am struck by their inventiveness, variety, and irreverence, as they represent a spontaneous appropriation of the city’s physical skin in a joyous expression of ownership and belonging. The combination of creativity and technical talent is ever evolving, and – though different – these talking walls transcend geographical and cultural barriers. This piece is designed as part of an installation for the upcoming show “Wearing Cities”.
